Hi y’all, welcome back to Cleverly Caroline! Today I’m going to be sharing with you some pieces I’ve found while shopping recently that would be great for sorority recruitment. If you haven’t read about my recruitment experience yet, you can click here to check it out!
I would like to preface this post by saying that all of these opinions are my own, they do not reflect the Eta Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, Boston University Panhellenic, or Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity. What I talk about in this post are outfits that I think would be appropriate, cute, and comfortable for recruitment and are not meant to help you get into a specific sorority or a sorority at all.
For recruitment, you will need a range of outfits, from dressy casual to cocktail. Check with your school’s Panhellenic Council for more specific information about recruitment and dress code. I recommend, across the board, to wear outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident. Recruiters will recognize if you are uncomfortable or if it seems like you’re trying to be somebody that you’re not. In my own experience, many other PNMs were saying to wear a neutral dress for preference round. I knew, however, that I would feel my best wearing a Lilly Pulitzer dress. It was clear that I stood out in the sea of nude, blush pink, burgundy, and black, but I felt confident and that’s what matters.
I have been shopping a lot recently, particularly for recruitment this coming spring. I figured that along the way, I would show some pieces that could work for PNMs as well.
This dress from Ralph Lauren Factory is a great option for preference round. Click the links below to shop similar styles. Please note that these are affiliate links, meaning I earn a commission each time you shop through them at no extra cost to you.
An off the shoulder top with jeans is a fun outfit for a more casual day of recruitment. This top would be so cute paired with a statement earring!
A basic tee and a fun pair of shorts is another good option for a more casual day.
A neutral dress can be dressed up or down depending on which day of recruitment you’re wearing it
I went shopping for these pieces at my local TJ Maxx as well as at boutiques in Lake Tahoe, but you can find clothes for recruitment anywhere, and they definitely don’t have to be expensive. I wore only clothes that I already owned when I went through recruitment.
