Sorority Formal Shopping at Lilly Pulitzer

Hey y’all, today I’m going to be sharing with y’all my experience shopping for formal dresses at Lilly Pulitzer. My formal is this Friday and I’m really excited! Last week I went to the Lilly Pulitzer store on Newbury Street in Boston to find a dress. It was really hard to narrow my purchase to one dress because honestly I loved everything in the store. Hopefully, y’all can see my thought process when shopping and see some new Lilly pieces in the process.

I loved this dress so much! I liked the subtle v neck and the mix of the print with the design at the hem. I thought the cut of this dress is extremely flattering too! I ultimately didn’t end up buying this dress but I think I definitely will during the next After Party Sale.

I really thought I was going to like this dress because of the pattern and I have liked the Mila Shift in the past. I did not think this dress was flattering at all, I felt like it really hung off my body in a weird way.

I felt the same about this dress as the first one in terms of fit, however the print wasn’t for me. When I shop at Lilly, I tend to lean towards more pink toned prints as opposed to this blue one.

I wanted this romper to look good on me SO badly. I love this print but something about the pattern down the middle makes the romper look like a shirt on me I think. I was very stoked about the fact that this is a romper that looks like a dress too.

Like the last item, I really wanted to love this dress. I love the lace detailing and the bird print. As with the last one, I feel like the front detailing made the dress look more like a top on me. I also, once more, did not like how a blue print looked.

I am so excited about this romper! I think the print is super cute and I like that it it has shorts attached. I think it’s going to be so much fun to dance in. Also, because it’s a romper, it’s very versatile and I think I’ll be wearing it all summer long.

I hope y’all enjoyed seeing my thought process while shopping for formal. I honestly loved all of these dresses and I wish I could have everything from Lilly. That being said, their dresses are pretty pricy so I wanted to make sure I was getting something I really loved with my money
