Summer 2020 Plans: My First College Internship, Classes, and More

Hey y’all, welcome back! Today I’m going to be sharing a super exciting post with y’all. I’m going to be telling you all about my summer plans! Keep reading to the end for the most exciting news.

If you were here this past summer, you’d know that I can’t stay away from school. For CGS, I was required to study abroad last summer, but even after completing 14 credits in my first 6 weeks, I took another course to full time even though I didn’t have to. So it should come as no surprise that I’m taking my 8 credits this summer. For the first summer session, I’m taking Religion and Politics with one of my favorite professors. We’ve already met once and I am really looking forward to the rest of the term. The class is only about 20 people which is exciting because I really enjoy small classes. During the second term, I’m taking Fourth Semester French to fulfill my language requirement. These classes will make it so that I am over a semester ahead credits wise and also almost done with my major requirements. I’m not going to elaborate further, but I have big academic plans for the next two years and by taking these extra courses I will be able to fulfill those goals.

I plan on continuing to upload to the blog twice a week, Youtube once a week, and Instagram three times a week. For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to stick to a stricter schedule and I’ve been enjoying it! This summer, I’m also working on creating back to school content for incoming freshmen in college. I also am looking for collaborations for the summertime as well back to school.

This is by far the most exciting news! I’ve accepted a fellowship with Ed Markey’s senate campaign in Massachusetts. This will be my first campaign experience and I am so excited to see what it will be like. I had my orientation yesterday and I am really looking forward to meeting more of the other fellows as well as my supervisor. I haven’t shared my internship application process for this summer, but I did apply to a handful of internships but I either never heard back or they were canceled. I even interviewed for one of my dream internships and thought I did a great job, but before they released decisions they canceled the program. I was disappointed, but I am really excited for what’s to come!

high school debate

For those of you who don’t know, I was in debate in high school. That’s where this picture is from and how I got interested in politics!

I hope y’all are having a great summer so far and I can’t wait to hear what the rest of y’all are up to!
