Trying Women-Owned Businesses With Dough
Hey y’all, welcome back! Today I’m going to be sharing with y’all some amazing pieces from some amazing brands. Dough was kind enough to reach out to me and ask if I’d like to try out some of the shops they work with.
Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Dough, but all opinions are my own.
So what is Dough? It’s a group of women seeking to empower women-owned businesses. According to their website, “Women control 80% of consumer spending yet receive less than 3% of funding from venture capital for their companies.”
Shoppers can pay a monthly membership fee to receive discounts on the brands that Dough supports. They also post daily deals, introducing you to a product with an exclusive discount and honest user reviews. You also get access to an amazing concierge service that helps you find pieces you love from their catalog. My concierge helped me find the pieces in this post and she did an amazing job!
Being completely honest, I was a little worried about this bodysuit at first because the color is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I was pleasantly surprised! I’ve been trying a lot of new colors and styles lately and I’m obsessed with this pumpkin color for fall.
Fauxgerty is an environmentally sustainable clothing brand that focuses on creating versatile, high quality, vintage-inspired pictures. In addition, all of their pieces are made in the US!
I’m a big neutral eyeshadow person, so I love this palette for the colors. I have been wanting to try out Beauty Bakerie for a while now and it definitely lives up to the hype! I used this palette for my makeup for date party and got lots of compliments.
Beauty Bakerie is a makeup brand started by a single teen mom with a knack for starting businesses. They spread sweetness across the world with their makeup products and by donating money, clothes, and toys to orphanages.
If you know me, you know I love to-do lists. For me, it’s the easiest way to organize my busy schedule. While I love my Lilly planner for keeping track of my semesters, I usually find myself writing up a to-do list for each week on a post-it. Because of that, I cant stop using this to-do list notepad. I love the gold foil details and that it’s way more organized than my usual post-it note lists.
Cloth & Paper was founded by a planner lover like myself who was looking for a planner with a minimal aesthetic that still fit her needs. They create leather planners, planner inserts, and stationary with gold finishings and a luxe feel.
This setting spray is so adorable, it looks just like a container of baking spray. I used this for my date party makeup and it stayed in place all night. It has a very aggressive stream, so you’ll definitely want to hold it the recommended eight inches away from your face!
White tees are a closet staple, especially for someone like me who wears a lot of bright colors. I am always looking to add high quality basics to my wardrobe, and this certainly fills that role. This shirt is thick and high quality, but not heavy or hot.
Franc is a sustainable fashion brand based in Canada that focuses on timeless and classic pieces. Their clothes are also plant-based!
As with the other notepad, this one is also super helpful for organizing my life. I love the calligraphy and doodle on this one. This notepad has lots of lines on it, which is perfect for my super busy weeks.
A Jar of Pickles is a Bay Area based stationary shop centered around minimal designs.
This lipstick is such a stunning purple-red color. I don’t wear lipstick often, but when I do I lean towards these purpley red colors.
Hi Wildflower uses sustainable and ethically sourced botanicals in their makeup and fragrances. Their packaging is also biodegradable!
I wear mascara every day, so I’m pretty picky. This mascara is perfect for people like me, who just want to swipe on some mascara and head out the door. This mascara creates the “your lashes but better” look. It separates and lengthens, creating a nice natural look.
I loved testing out these products from such a variety of awesome women-owned brands. I am definitely trying to be more intentional about my shopping and move away from fast fashion. Dough is such a great place to start if you’re looking into more sustainable shopping that supports women-owned businesses like I am!
